I just bought one from Germany. I love it. I got mine for $145, so if its $100 I would definitly bid on it.

It's on my top seven list. http://super8mm.net/html/camera_information.html
My problem with the camera is that it does not have a flash contact. So if you want to use it to do sound shooting it can't be modified for a 1/f 1000hz burst. You'll have to just do wild sound.

Wild sound hasn't been a problem for me - I record on a Sony miniDisc, transfer the film to video, and its pretty easy to sync it up.

Thanks,
I think I'll bid...great camera list
I'm glad to see my two camera's made the list..NIZO 6080/crystal sync and my favorite CANON 1014 XL-s ..another Question...my first Canon 1014Xl-S I bought
in
the early 80's had an external battery pack, that I loved. it took C size batteries..anybody know where I could get one.
Thanks again

I concur.
The Elmo has a really neat macro feature...you can zoom the lens all the way in and then go into macro...rather than macro only in the wide angle mode....
the close-ups are pretty intense.
Clean image, Elmo was a little weak in the frame rate per second options.
So you get, single frame, 18, 24, and I think 32 or 36.
The camera mike actually picks up sound (if you had sound film to put in it...even when you shoot single frame...a bizarre concept for sure.) but without sound film, it's a moot point...(hey, I made a bad pun!)
The price usually tops out around $150 bucks for those babies...well worth it.
One potential problem to look out for, the camera was designed for 200 ft loads, so make sure the removeable cover plate is still with the camera...it would be located on the "roof" of the camera,
....otherwise you can't shoot because light will get into the film chamber through the well ventilated sun roof your camera will have.
I bought one of these cameras on e-bay and it arrived without the plate!

Thanks Alex,
I'll make sure I ask about it...I have a Elmo 912 viewer and have used their projectors...but was clueless about their camera's..other than knowing it's the top model
Thanks

You can get it modified for Crystal Sync by The Film Group, as well.

I was outbid on the original one..but I picked up one at a local camera shop..one owner..low miles..also picked up a Nizo 2056 on E-Bay..used to be a time when you could buy all the top S-8 camera's at rock bottom prices..I bought my current Canon 1014XL-S for 125.00 in 1991 from a local school...they were switching over to video...I am now looking for a Mint NIZO 4080 w/mattbox..
Thanks
Neil
